04.65   POWER FACTOR

REGULATION OF POWER FACTOR

In New Jersey the Customer shall be required to maintain a power factor in the range of 87%- 100% coincident with the customer's maximum on-peak monthly demand. The Company may inspect the customer's installed equipment and/or place instruments on the premises of the customer, in order to determine compliance with this requirement.

In New Jersey, as deemed appropriate by the Company, the installation by the Company of corrective devices necessary for compliance with this provision, shall be billed to the customer under the provisions of Tariff Section 4.05.

In Pennsylvania, the Company shall have the right to require Customers to provide, at their sole expense, Power Factor corrective equipment which will maintain their average Power Factor at no less than eighty-five percent (85%) lagging. Unless corrective equipment is installed, the Company is under no obligation to serve or continue to serve such customers.
