and Meter Installation Requirements Guide 09.05 STREET LIGHTING - GENERAL For overhead fed streetlights GPU Energy generally will install and own the streetlights with some exceptions in the Met-Ed service area. For underground fed streetlights in the Penelec and JCP&L service areas GPU Energy installs street lighting at the request of developers and other local authorities. Where the local authority has requirements, it is the developer's responsibility to adhere to the requirements and provide an approved design. If the local authority has no requirements then the Company will assist with the design and the layout of street lighting systems. For underground fed streetlights in the Met-Ed service area, GPU Energy's Customer-owned and installed street lighting service is only available to qualified Customers which are defined as municipal, local, state and federal governmental bodies, community associations, public authorities and developers requesting street lights authorized by the local municipality. The Company does not design, nor approve the design of street lighting systems for customer owned facilites. GPU Energy will return the plan indicating the location of available electrical supply sources, along with a list of material requirements. For underground fed streetlights the Customer shall provide the Company with a final plan of the project area. Where the Customer provides the design to GPU Energy the Customer shall provide the Company with a final plan of indicating the location of facilities, description of facilities including size and type of standard and luminare and where required (in Met-Ed service area) size and type of cable and fusing. For all lighting the Customer shall be required to enter into a contract in accordance with the applicable tariffs. End of Specification:
