09.10   STREET LIGHTING - REQUIREMENTS (Met-Ed ONLY)

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

In some Pennsylvania service areas (Met-Ed service area), the Customer shall install all street lighting facilities, including service entrance equipment in accordance with the provisions of the NEC and the requirements of the manufacturer, the Customer and the Company (See Requirement 12.80 ).

The Customer shall provide and install lighting standard(s) with luminaire(s) which shall be equipped to operate with one of the standard lamp wattage specified in the Tariff.

The customer shall provide and install photo-electric controls which shall be suitable for use with an EEI-NEMA standard twist lock receptacle and shall be installed a minimum of eight (8) feet above finished grade. The photo-electric control shall have a maximum load capability of 1800 volt-amperes; shall be equipped with suitable surge protection and shall have an operating voltage of 120 VAC (105V to 130V) and have a maximum time delay of ten (10) seconds.

The Customer shall provide and install a service support in accordance with the Company's requirements (See Requirement 12.80 ) and suitable service entrance equipment in accordance with the provisions of the NEC, at each location designated by GPU Energy.

The Customer is responsible for all trenching, (only after contacting the PA One Call System and back-filling, including the trench(es) for the Company's service lateral conductors.

The Customer shall provide and install all foundations, lamps, conduit, connectors and clamps, and cable on the Customer's side of the service disconnect.

The Customer shall have the installation inspected for conformity with the provisions of the NEC by a GPU Energy accepted electrical inspector, prior to the service being energized by the Company.
